Have done the QF9 MEL - PER domestic sector twice now. The economy seats are extremely uncomfortable. No way could I sit in one for 17 hours.. Four hours was enough.
Just did 5 hours SIA Singapore - Perth , economy in the 787. Totally different comfort factor. Easy on the backside.
