Not too many places you can walk from the hotel and find something good to eat at 3am and be safe.
Maybe you just need a big cup of cement before you go out at 3am, I feel pretty safe in most cities at 3am, just don't need to push it to the limits in places like Oakland which has one of the most unsafe records in the USA
