Yes, that's correct! I got the call today asking if I would be willing to take a full-time contract position, until March/April 2019. Groundschool starts on the 27th of August. I said yes and hope/pray a permanent position comes up before the end of my contract! They do not know which base yet. I said I was happy to relocate wherever they needed me.
My timeline of events were:
Applied April 2017 / Assessment Day June 2017 / Reference Checks Complete July 2017 / Phone call to state I'm still on hold May 2018 / Phone call to ask if I'd take a 6-month contract July 2018
I'm still over the moon to be starting with QANTAS - after such a long wait, I was so scared I would miss out. 6 months is better than nothing
One can only hope there will be permanent positions available next March/April.
