I believe that the reason why this post has attracted sure a response is that no one likes to hear of such waste. In addition I believe that there is a genuine application for the fantastic service that Tornado has given to this country (and still will till next March).
It has become normal for the public to see and hear of it being deployed in the many and various conflicts it has been used in over the last 35+ years.
Whenever the RAF has been called into action Tornado has been the go to aircraft of choice.
It has been used in the front line for about 40% of the life of the RAF and while of course it is not the same as Spitfire Hurricane or Lancaster it has in fact been the most important jet aircraft in the RAF.
