Dear Betsy: Not wanting to be argumentative, just interested. What makes you think it was CFP fuel? Is that information available somewhere that I don't know about? A quick calculation would suggest more than CFP carried. The CFP had 2400 KG CONT. They did approximately three laps of the hold. Those two items effectively cancel each other out. They choose to go to Montreal rather than the CFP ALT of Ottawa. That is an extra 1.2T. Add the fuel to carry that extra gas and I would
guess that they loaded at least an extra 2.0T. Maybe more. I could be wrong. Really hard to say without actually being there. Multiple different factors would have gone into the decision making process. Too many to list here. Can't win them all.
