I can’t answer that as I wasn’t in that situation.
But the first inclination of the (uneducated ) press is usually to praise the pilot for the avoidance of a true massacre.
My point was simply that these events rarely turn out to be what they were initially perceived to be.
But the average newspaper almost never publishes a follow up after a year or so when the final report of the NTSB comes out.
I just questioned the ‘backslapping’ that’s all.
