Myself and 100´s of other pilots tried for years to join EK, but having only flown business jets for 15 years where the aircraft weight was 270kg short of EK´s weight requirement (YUP 270kg) to be accepted for an interview, we were politely turned away. Even with a GCAA ATPL and 12 years of flying fast jets in the Middle East, the 270kg I was short when it came to the weight requirement, was a deal breaker
but I truly hope that the large number of cadets joining soon will bring the experience we were lacking
