I don’t work for Cathay but I’ve been in the Airlines for over 10 years and I’ve never seen such a
deal and I worked for Ryanair. It seems they own you if you sign this cadet contract. I consider myself lucky to have started in Ryanair when I saw this.
Under no circumstances would I secure the training loan using parents as a guarantor etc. that way you can leave the company and the debt behind if you’re not happy.
If you’re from a poor family in a poor country then it’s a step up and that’s probably what Cathay have in mind.
