Regret unable to be there. Peter Eden was Boss of 1 Sqn on the flying side at Cranwell in the 60s. I remember him as a helpful and considerate instructor and examiner and as a gentleman in the finest sense of the word .His family should justifiabley be very proud of him. Hence I sign in my real name not my nom-de-plume.

Fond memories

Peter and I were together at Cranwell in the 60s. We flew together and shot together at Bisley; they were good times. My thoughts will be with you at his departure. Mike Turner.

By a strange coincidence I have just been going through my old log books in connection with a gliding course next week, and noticed that Pete Eden ("Sir" in those far off days) had signed both my Chipmunk and Jet Provost "Certificate of Qualification as a Pilot!. Thanks, Boss. RIP
