What happened to Danny Fyne?

I was one of the original half dozen members when PPRuNe started up

IIRC Danny started in as BA had started to recruit for the first time in 10 years and we were circulating a lot of information about the recruitment process using the old BALPA compuserve forum.. BA complained to BALPA who asked us to desist and that and other "censorship issues" led Danny to start up what was originally an email list with daily digests of all the posts and so on.

I well remember the first PPRuNe bash at DF's house in Liverpool with a couple of others -good night out. 9th March 1997 - I recall, as next day there was a 160 car pile upon the M42 which I narrowly missed on my way home!

Originally I was an enthusitic contributor but other things got in the way as they do and I have probably only glanced at this site about twice a year over the last 7 or 8 years.

I tried to post something today but it was immediately censored as it referenced a blog; not specifically banned in the rules but it annoyed a moderator enough to waste time editing my post to attempt to make me look stupid.

"This isnt the PPRuNe I knew an loved" I thought so a quicjk scane through the forums indicated that danny sold up back in 2007.

Capt PPRuNe is no longer a registered user, so does anyone have contact details - Pm me if you prefer. I'd like to get in touch again.

Spoke to him a few years ago whilst I was on a flight from MAN to LGW. Very nice chap, was working for a red long haul outfit last time I heard.

He's still around, and will, no doubt, read your post.

Thanks Loose rivets - you have reminded me why I moved to a habit of only visiting twice a year. How the flying am I supposed to know he's changed his name from Capt PPRuNe to Danny2? See you in 6 months!
