Hi there my is Kurt Hansen my father was a pilot with Connair from 1969 to 1981 when East West had taken over until the airline closed down.Some stayed in Darwin and went on to work with a company called NTAW.I am still in touch with pilots from the good old days my father name is John Hansen and other pilots whom i have contact with are Hank Vandarmass,Rob Huntington Dave Perry. Hi Kurt, I flew with your father in 1973 as well as G. Washington etc. I beleive I flew with John on the Heron the day the refueler in Hooker Creek overfueled the aircraft, pouring avgas into the wing of the Heron, an interesting day for a very young pilot! Bob
Not sure if you are interested in employees before your time there ( c '64 - '66 ) .. operations from Townsite .. Beech 18's, Twin Bonanzas (!) etc .. I was a T/O , went on to fly in the North West ..last 30 yrs in UK .. met Eddie's old secretary last time in Aust ( lives nr mum in Tweed Heads ) many happy memories .. recall names and happy times in the days when we were 'learning to fly' and 'working for Eddie'
I picked up an book on meterology for glider pilots, in a second hand bookshop in Queenscliff. Inside the cover is a message to Mary Connellan. I often wondered if there was a connection to the Connellan family.
