Dan Air Captains

Anyone any memories of/know what happened to:

Captain Buxton a neighbour in my teen years - flew 1-11s for Dan Air after leaving the RAF (where he served a secondment flying Tunku Abdul Rahman around).

Captain Cowper - a large man with an equally large beard. Comet Captain based at MAN.

Came across Bob 'Black Adder' Nicholls 1-11 F/O a couple of years back, believe he was flying for Emirates.

Anyone know the whereabouts of Mike Potts 727 Training Captain?

Al Dix used to be in the Rothmans Aerobatic Team, probably explains his sense of humour!

See the Aviation History forum for details...

Dixie is not very well but hanging on.

Vaughan is still to be seen (rarely) in what was his OAA sim building.

Sheen; Dicky Dalton-Holmes; Robbie Dobson and Tony Windsor (ex-Brown) are still slogging it out in Tommy Cook.

Potts had some (very) bad luck but I dunno where he is now.

I was just an 'umble FO.

Mike Dyson was Chief Instructor (as opposed to the CFI who was Ted Wood) at Cabair College of Air Training at Cranfield in the late '90s.

Incidentally, anyone know what became of Ted?

Indeed Bob is a very good chap.

I heard only last week that Ted Wood passed away a few years ago from cancer, this however is unconfirmed, I did know that he had been ill for a while though...

Mike Dyson was one of the first F/O's I flew with after getting my 727 command in Dan. A fantastic guy!! My son went through Oxford last year and Mike was his IR instructor. I did a back seat ride and the repartee between them was reminiscent of 25 years ago.How history repeats itself!!
