no nooo.

Blett was never like that. Boundless enthusiasm and always the professional. It was only efforts by people like Blett that the thing kept going at all.

Bought a car from Soddy? You have GOT to be nuts.

Actually the whole thing was kept on the rails by Marianna, while the likes of you bogged off early so as not to be caught by the Bonallacks.

Chaps

J Soddy is in Mattishal near Dereham Norfolk, and sometimes
on Radio Norfolk doing the cricket.

Chris Crowther may be in the Wroxham Norfolk area
doing sailing instruction.

Regards

Just doing a bit of gentle browsing when I came across this. More memories than I could shake a stick at. I started with Peters Aviation in 1976 moved on to join Brian Sharman in EAST AIR flying the twin com and went back to Peters when we were sold out in1978. Then spent a couple of years with Air Anglia. Remember Jerry Fawke on a Munich trip saying last time he'd been there was to bomb the B******s. Had a memorable day out with Min Brown when we had 2 engine failures on the same day fortunately not at the same time. The PA was a joy as we had a bunch of A10 pilots on board "Gentlemen we have stopped one of the engines so we can slow down to your normal speed and make you feel at home".

I remember the fist time I flew with Compo, he walks up the steps of the F27, looks at me and grunts as I give a cheery "Hello Captain!" Then he goes into the flight deck and says to the No 1..."Is he a P..F then?" Lol!

Great guy.

What happened to the scheduling chap? Not Gary Lewis...Phil?

Cheers

Rae, Mac the scheduling chap went to Britannia I think.
Gary Lewis was last heard of doing his stuff with Eastern out of Humberside.
Soddy doing the cricket on local radio? Brilliant.

Captain C

greetings Mr W. Dec 13th 1979, it was. Do you remember who was in charge of the cabin? None other than Piggy Waltoon's wife, Sue.

Rae

funnily enough, Compo rang me only last night for a beer (unfortunately I was on stby).

Remember Compo used to have a knackered Moggy 1000 estate , the half timbered sort, and one day "someone" put a wet fish under the passenger side floor mat. A couple of months later "someone" felt guilty and removed the now maggot infested corpse. Compo hadn't noticed things had got more than a little whiffy, haddock-wise.

I recall another "fishy" type incident...On the way back from Stavanger, after a day stop and sumptious buffet lunch, the FO during flight, just as Compo had begun doing his PA to the pax, was complaining of itching in the nether regions...so Compo and myself suggest what it may be...and the FO said he had been to the doc and it wasn't C--bs. There was a silence and Compo started his PA, just as the FO pulled a large prawn from his trousers and threw it at Compo!! "The doctor diagnosed me with a case of Prawns..." LOL!

Incidentally, when you left Air UK Ltd you could choose your crew for your last trip and I chose Compo as my skipper.

Cheers

I was only with the Exec Fleet for a year (1977) but had a most enjoyable time. Fantom you made it a great place to work, thanks! I'll always remember your story and picture of your steed in Germany!

Does anyone remember that house just outside the airport which was converted into a drinking establishment? I think it was called the Red Door or something......it was the cause of a few headaches for quite a few, myself included!

Piggy and Sue lived around the corner from me in Aylsham and arranged one early morning an ambulance for my wife, she was off to have our first born who now also flies.

G'day, you robber's dog. The pictures of my steed in Germany are top secret. Don't tell my boss.

You were thinking of Redroofs. Actually, it should have been 'Redrooves' but they don't do spelling in Norfolk.

Headaches? I remember well..
