Virgin Atlantic recruiting again soon?

I read on ppjn that recruitment is possible soon. A Balpa letter mentioned hiring on all fleets. I see there's rated 787 recruitment on the current Virgin vacancies. Are there any imminent plans for recruitment on other fleets?

Or Thomson. They'll have plenty to choose from.

Thanks Fast cruiser. I was actually wondering if they were going to recruit on the other fleets as hinted at in the Balpa letter.

Hows life at VS at the moment? Are you still limited to 750 hours pa? As a junior bod is it possible to get days off for birthday etc?

I have to say, the all inc package (no flight pay) and 15% pension on the whole lot is enticing.

Are the other niceties enough, i.e.. LOL, PHI etc?

I have heard rumours that fleet moves are almost non-existent. Is this true? And if so, does that mean that you have to wait for a B787 cmd even if there is a A340 slot available?

With Delta heavily invested, it all seems to be pretty stable long term. Is this a fair assessment?

Thanks. Fingers crossed for other fleets

It's a good year 1 FO package, Salary plus pension must be the best in the U.K.

750hrs per year with the option of overtime most months.

Rotating seniority means that even junior guys have a fighting chance of getting requests.

Movement between fleets is possible as per company requirements. Many guys of the Airbus and 747 fleets are moving to 787 and vice versa. Also opportunity to change fleets when getting a command!

All in all a great airline to work for with even better folks to fly with!

What about the future post Branson though? (He's fast approaching his seventies). I'd apply tomorrow but this is the one issue that really deters me. Is it something that's discussed much on the line at VS?

The rumour within the airline is that new pilot recruits will not be offered the present 15% pension contribution (that is, if you contribute 6% minimum). As yet, this is not substantiated.

A320

Would you care to elaborate. The question had been asked elsewhere and hasn't been answered.

Any idea if they will recruit B777 pilots?

I assume when they require 500 in the 787 is 500 in the 787 not 777/787...
