Can someone explain how this thread is useful? Most people know what the Ts and Cs are at major carriers and if you don't just look on PPJN.

I also fail to see the point. What is happening with all this when it is there ? As a reference document it is totally useless. Because of its location it is valueless without context.

If you have nothing to contribute, then just ignore it.

I find it interesting.

Grrr

Enzo, I have been using PPJN for over a decade, and whilst it's good to satisfy that odd bit of curiosity, it mostly contains outdated and insignificant information.

This thread will highlight the realities particularly around take home pay and perceptions of those who are employed. What might improve it a little is if we can all also contribute with a bit of free text and not be constrained by the format too much.

Because of its location it is valueless without context.

Current a/c type: Saab 340
Years in service: 4 in current 8 yrs total airlines
Type of airline (name if you’re brave!): Loganair
Base country: Scotland
Hours per month (average): 50 or 60 flying. On duty on ground a lot more.
Roster: Generally 5 days on 2 off. Often late finish before off days, early start after. Poor roster stability under new regime.
Monthly salary (before tax): 2600GBP
Monthly salary (after tax): 1850 GBP after deducted 8% pension £243 voucher for childcare
Additional payments: Christmas bonus. Lowest about £500 highest about £1000 before tax
Any benefits?: Duty pay £9 per duty sector pay £2.60. Company pay an excellent 12% into pension as long as I pay 8%.
Happy (yes/no): No. I'm leaving. Gonna miss fantastic colleagues, and learning from superb captains and trainers. Not gonna miss poor cheap hotels. No possible career progression without unpopular base move, for indefinite period.
Great folks to work with, but aggressive bean counters to work for now. Pity.

Interesting thread.

Current a/c type: A320, still rated on 737
Years in service: 14
Type of airline (name if you’re brave!): scheduled, central europe.
Base country: Central Europe.
Hours per month (average): 30 to 40 plus around 20 for union work
Monthly salary (before tax): 8.200€
Monthly salary (after tax): 5.200€
Additional payments: guaranteed overtime if not flown, transportation bonus for early check in, late check out, uniform cleaning, sector pay for 4 sectors a day or more (complicated thing).
Any benefits?: LoL, Pension
Happy (yes/no): Kinda happy, although the prospect of another 5 to 10 years in the right seat isn't really nice.

To be honest, a total yearly salary would be probably more informative as it includes all the other stuff.
