Spring Airlines

Does anybody have any information about Spring Airlines base Shangai.
I registered for DEC A320 position. I do have to move with my family.
Any experiences here to share?
Thanks.

You and your family will just love China - it's a really wholesome kind of place.

The people of that nation are highly cultured, polite, approachable and most of all hygienic.

The air quality has improved in leaps and bounds over the last few decades. I would say it rivals that of southern Africa now.

But most of all, Spring Airlines, or any other excellent airline in China will treat you with respect, and as an equal.

Enjoy the experience

I don't work for Spring but I do have buddies with them. Unfortunately they are not very impressed. The money is great, the time off is great, the airline is very disorganized. Shanghai is a good place to live, busy but good. The culture is very different but manageable. Depending on what agency you go with, the terms are slightly different. You must report to work 2 hours and 45 mins prior to flight due to getting a one hour bus to the airport and the same back after duty finished. Do not be fooled by safety bonus as if you have any on line minor incidents , bonus is gone. The airline has an internal website naming those pilots whom have had problems flying online. which means all first officers can let you know the mistakes you have made. The hotels the airline put you up In are not the best. When you initially get an interview, you must pass caac ATPL exam, airline interview, Caac medical and airline sim. You then go back to you're home country and wait to be called for Caac Sim check. This check can be interesting but passable I've heard. The whole process can take months(maybe that's why all Chinese airlines recruit heavily. Another interesting thing was recently the Airline refused 2 HIV passengers from traveling as it was a contagious disease. What planet are these people on. This is just what I've heard and not my experience. I hope it works out for you.

Pollution in Shanghai is unbelievable, for those thinking of their health , never mind their childrens.

Shanghai Issues Health Warning on Heavy Pollution for Second Day - Bloomberg

A mask is meant to be worn over 200AQI which in happens OFTEN !

My buddy there says the daily commute from home to check in at SHA then bus to PVG and back again is a killer and most pilots families have given up on Shanghai, also a huge number of layovers in hotels.

Beijing Capital Airlines at Sanya base is a FAR FAR better option....no pollution , tiny commute, living in holiday resort. The money better then Spring when you sell back some of your 3 months per year leave!!! Which nearly all of them do.

Be warned, once you go for a selection in China , you are stuck with that Airline!! Dont get trapped by the Ryanair of China honey pot! Check out BCA in Sanya....

Flying Clog must be working for a contract company or is a Chinese employee working for Spring Airlines. A more superlative bovine excrement statement I have yet to read.

See the thread linked below for a general overview of China.
http://www.pprune.org/terms-endearme...unishment.html

I am not going to comment directly about Spring Airlines but I will say this; Anyone wanting bring children to a city with pollution at the levels seen regularly in China needs to really think about what they are doing. China doesn't go a week without a food safety scandal either.

The scandals usually only cover foreign firms as a distraction from what the State protected enterprises are doing to poison their own people.

Google can provide you with more.

Research schooling costs. Download an AQI app for China. Flying Clog most certainly is being sarcastic and I agree completely with StandbyFlowControl.
