Ryanair bournemouth base?

Hi

Do Ryanair still base pilots in Bournemouth? If so can someone tell me what a roster would be like out of there please.

Not from that base, but it appears to be a 5/4 roster but only open for the summer schedule, closing soon for the winter if not already closed

Great base if you can get it. BUT and this is a big BUT you CAN'T. BOH is summer only base with no guarantee of winter flying. The RYR contract crews I believe are getting LTN for this winter. BRK or Storm will take their chances (be very poor). I believe the base only has single figure numbers of based pilots now. If you are thinking of joining FR to get a BOH base forget it. It won't happen. There are lots of people in the company wanting that and consistantly told no chance.

As for roster 5/4 but as the base only has one aircraft and depends on floating Caps and FOs to run if a floater turns up on your weeks work that's no work (pay) for you that week. Bit of a vicious position. No guaranteed work in the winter and indifferent pay in the summer compared to most bases.

I know pilots who have been waiting 5 years or more for BOH. Seriously, forget about it.

Never understood it. Buzz had done all the donkey work. Lots of retired snow birds wanting to jet off for the winter. Friends in the SW say it is easier to get to than LGW; and cheaper once you are there. Must be the same for RYR. With Buzz having disappeared; and don't know about Thomson & others, but if BOH is under utilised why shut down for the lucrative winter months. Keeps the company name alive ready for the summer. If other operators run during the winter they will keep pax loyalty in the summer. Does seem odd there is no base all year round in the lucrative retired rich south.

Maybe the "lucrative retired rich" don't appreciate that "special service" provided by RYR

Would have thought Golf trips to Faro/Malaga or Las Palmas would have been worth a punt though, not to mention Larnaca. Missed opportunity.
