Perhaps a Mac expert can help there. I'm a bit behind with updating the main listing - hopefully will get on to that in the next month or two and that might make your exercise a tad easier.

Aircraft Noise Database

Latest noise databases
EASA have got links through to their very big Excel databases of noise for helicopters, and jet and propeller aircraft:

EASA noise

The key values are the "level" for takeoff, overflight and approach and not the "limit", which is an ICAO calculated limit for a particular Stage compliance. The "limit" and the "margin" (= limit - level) are metrics used to see how close the particular machine is to the limit.

The Eurocontrol IANS database is useful to give performance details of many aircraft types. Great speed/altitude/rate of climb/descent profiles for every stage of flight.
Aircraft Performance Database V2.0
From their blurb: The Aircraft Performance Database is intended to be an educational and reference tool. It should allow users to search for one or more aircraft and then view data associated with the aircraft. This data includes identification, recognition and performance details. The content is provided 'as is' and cannot be guaranteed as accurate. It should therefore not be used operationally.

Safety Management Systems Symposium presentations

This link is to the 2nd European Safety Management Systems Symposium web page. The event is being run by the UK Flight Safety Committee at the RAF Museum at Hendon and is supported by Baines Simmons Ltd, which does mean that the web page is fully commercial and sorry if that contravenes any rules, but the Symposium is being run at cost as a means of promoting SMS awareness rather than as a commercail venture. The presentations from all presenters will be on this site after the Symposium and I hope they will be of use to Techlog users. I hope this helps people as I'm an unashamed SMS nerd, but if this entry is deemed to be too commercial then I will happily accept a slap and see the moderators remove the link, I'm quite new to PPRuNe and you have to live and learn.

saving links to a mac

Quote:
is there an easy way to save all of these references to my mac computer?
Method 1 - Safari>Safari Extensions Gallery (Safari 5 only). Scroll down and install tablinks.

Then open all the pages you want to bookmark in a new tab (command click, it does also help if you have this set up in safari preferences to open behind the open tab).

Then click on the link (chain) icon on the top and all the links are displayed.

Method 2 - Slightly clunkier, but saves the links in bookmarks...

Right click on the bookmarks area of the browser in safari (just under the address bar) and create a new folder, then name it.

Open all the pages you want to bookmark in a new tab (command click, it does also help if you have this set up in safari preferences to open behind the open tab).

Right click on one of the open tabs - there should be a menu item of "add bookmark for these [number] tabs"

Click it and add it to the folder you created (and named appropriately) above.
