OptiClimb fuel savings

Hi all,

Recently, I have been reading about OptiClimb by SafetyLine.

Apparently, this can bring up to 5% saving during the climb phase (compared to the standard FMS climb, at equal final distance and time), by adapting the Climb CAS schedule.

Transavia, AirAsia and other A/Ls are using it, or will do.

This sounds quite intriguing. Does anyone on this forum know a bit more on it, or has already used it?

Opti Climb provides software calculated climb speeds considering the winds, TOC, GW and ISA deviation.
Practically we are amending the Econ speed above MSA and generally there is initial speed schedule, 2nd speed schedule and final speed schedule.

My experience is that the speeds suggested by opticlimb ensured that you are closer to best ROC speed .

Apparently in high temp environment it will ensure that the ac following opticlimb is at any given time in climb at a higher altitude vis a vis similar ac following Econ climb speed.
