A320 has two functions to assist LOC capture.
LOC CONVERGENCE FUNCTION
The aim of the LOC Convergence function is to help the aircraft intercept and capture the LOC axis. In NAV mode the aircraft is guided with converging track of 20 degrees from LOC axis.
ENHANCED LOC CAPTURE FUNCTION
The Enhanced LOC Capture function enhances the performance of the LOC capture and helps the aircraft to capture the LOC beam without overshoot.
This is pre capture of LOC beam using FMS position data when in GPS Primary with 15 degrees convergence angle.
