Anyone heard of Michellin tires developing bumps near the rim due to brake radiated heat?
thats what the manufacturer is claiming on our A320 fleet.

I haven't, and we use Michelins, too. I WILL say that these airplanes seem to go through tires at a rate considerably greater than my previous two types (granted, both considerably smaller aircraft).

Yes. Seen it on 146/Avro RJ's. Things getting little toasty and sidewall plies seperate. Also, the small vent holes on the sidewall (which vent displaced air between tire plys during initial install and inflation) can melt closed and trapped air will bulge the sidewall out.
Time to tell your guys to lay off the brakes a bit, or ensure fans are on when appropiate.
We went to Dunlops eventually.

Yup. B777s have had a similar problem.
