FIR BOUNDARY/MWARA/LDOC
1.when a note over a wpt at a FIR boundary requires a radio call few minutes prior to crossing FIR is that call required ONLY in a non radar environment? or at all times wether radar or non-radar contact? Recently I've being flying in the south china sea x-ing multiples FIR that requires it but nobody does it. Some SIMPLE guidance would be helpful.
2. My understanding is that ARINC provides both MWARA and LDOC service. MWARA service is free part of HF service to the FAA and LDOC is a pay service. Stockholm Radio is another pvt company thats provides LDOC service for a fee. I guess my question is how come my airlines send company report over a MWARA frequency? and not a LDOC freq? We use Seoul radio to send our company position reports or Taipei radio they both use same freqs just different names.
