Fuel reserve

Greetings pilots,

I have 2 questions:

1- when I put the fuel resrve in the B737-NG FMC what will it affect (alerts for fuel quantity or enroute speed, altitude N1 ... Etc) ?

2- is it alternate fuel + hold time or something else?

Thank you very much.

It is to alert crew when you reach a crew/airline specified fuel quantity as defined by company/flight planned requirements. It may also provide information to the holding time in the hold page.

Reserve fuel is what ever you want it to be. Alerting for B to C plus approach and min reserve is the usual, if you are diverting you would probably change it just the min reserve (30 min)
