A320 - Cabin residual pressure controller
The A320 FCOM (Cabin pressurisation chapter) says:
The residual pressure controller automatically depressurises the aircraft in case of abnormal residual pressure on ground. It automatically open the outflow valve when:
- outflow valve is not fully open, and
- Both CPC'c are failed, or manual mode is selected, and
- The aircraft is on ground, and
- All engines are shutdown , or all ADIRS indicate an airspeed below 100 kts.
My question is, during manual pressurization (ECAM procedure) and during emergency evacuation the procedures wants the crew to manually open the outflow valve to fully open position. Why doesn't the RPC open the outflow valve in these conditions?
