Yep, that is where it's taking you:
ENG mode sel - IGN
Thr Lev 1(2) - IDLE
If no eng relight
Eng Master 1(2) - Off

By placing mode sel to IGN you are telling the FADEC to prepare for start again.

If master is set to Off, ENG is secured and you can proceed with ECAM.

Have fun

Eng(affected)relight.... consider.

It does mean you must do it immediately after to.

Do ECAM, after T/O CLIMB C/L, check STATUS, start APU and run up the procedure.

IMHO

Personally, for me at least, the "consider" is just that, take your time, sit on your hands and have a think about it.

This is one of the few ECAM checklists that I may leave up without clearing as I have "considered" doing the restart checklist as soon as all the other things that we deem important have been completed, i.e. above MSA and/or flying somewhere safe.

No point clearing the ECAM if the restart checklist is successful and the ECAM will be removed automatically as a result.

99 out of a 100 will not start - leave it - fly the aeroplane and you'll have a non event.

Normally you would stop the ECAM whilst cleaning up then continue the ECAM until ECAM actions complete.

Then when safe above MSA after perhaps consulting your company Engineering you would go ahead and using the QRH conduct the Engine relight procedure.

Then the commander will decide the safest course of action, either to return or continue.

No urgent rush.

The Engine will first try to relight anyway and most likely your later attempt won't work.

Remember you must fly the Aircraft first, do the immediate ECAM actions down to securing the Engine, then clean up, then complete the ECAM and get above MSA.

In many companies (I don't know what airbus says) you don't attempt a relight until just before reading the STS.

The airplane flies well enough on one engine and there is no hurry. fly-nav-cpm has priority. Then, before knowing what is your status you have to attempt to relight it (if no damage). Only then you will know what your status is.

Why would you try to relight the engine without a detailed analysis of WHY it failed? If it's spooled down due to large fuel leak in the engine/pylon there's nothing in ECAM that will say "Pipe Detached......Check for Spray".........but that's exactly what I'd do before even contemplating a restart.

And if it restarts, are you going to be confident that it'll continue to run

Secure it. Land. End of.

Once established on the final takeoff flight path, continue the ECAM (consider OEB, if applicable). When the STATUS is displayed, the AFTER TAKEOFF/CLIMB checklist should be completed and both the computer reset and engine relight (if no damage) considered. STATUS should then be reviewed.
