Fusible plugs

Having seen this youtube video: YouTube - Airbus A340-600 Rejected Take-Off test (subtitles) a couple of times a couple of questions have come to my mind:

1. Does the A340-600 have fusible plugs installed? Why did they not prevent these sudden blow outs by deflating the tires? For some reason the temperature did not exceed their melt point before the tires exploded?

2. The fire fighter seem to use water on the burning wheels. I thought this was a big no-no, especially if there are magnesium wheels since they may react quite violently to water.

Thanks for any input!

An RTO test stipulates no action from fire crew for a specified time.

The fuse plugs fitted to that particular aircraft were, if I recall correctly, of the wrong temperature rating.

172_driver;

Magnesium alloy wheels have not been used for years. It doesn't have the strength or the corrosion resistance required.
