You're raising the issue of LoCo Vs safety.

Minimum safety standards are required and the regulators will enforce these, especially on an EASA operator such as Wow. So, essentially, WOW will be meeting the required safety standards.

Yes, like almost every airliner that crashes in the developed world.

Often, Lo-Co airlines have better training departments than legacy carriers, simply because they have to; it wouldn't be possible to put so many low-experience pilots into the flight deck without that. As long as you're flying on a Boeing or Airbus, into proper airports with good navigation facilities, you've ticked the important boxes.

On the contrary, plenty of hope. In this discussion, I used a broad brush. Notwithstanding the 328 prop's propensity for going off the end of runways on account of the power lever gate design (was that ever fixed?) and the fact that turboprop and small jet crew are less well paid and tend to be less experienced (which you may perceive to be an undesirable thing though I wouldn't necessarily agree), and that such aircraft sometimes tend to operate from second-order airports, you have every reason to look forward to a lovely flight.

Well, I survived. It was a horrible flight due to a 2 hour tarmac delay (we all boarded => someone did not show up => all the bags needed to be offloaded => culprit's bags needed to be removed), a person that was throwing up in front of me, the airplane was incredibly dirty (A330), the cabin crew was super friendly and moved me away from the person throwing up, the leg space was horrendous, the pilots were super friendly and informed us all the way.
The crew was very nice, but the hard product is horrendous. I will pay more to fly Icelandair next time.

On the return the hard product was equally horrendous (the worst leg space I have ever seen, worse than Ryanair), but the airplane was brand new and not so dirty. The seats were very comfortable to sit in (minus the leg space..), and the color scheme inside was a lot more tasteful. Suddenly I realized the airplane was leased from Avion Express, so it was only "WOW air paint" on it, but the inside was not WOW air's. The pilots were anything but Icelandic, and did not belong to WOW air's pay roost. I felt cheated and very unsafe.

Luckily the weather was very good for both flights.

Next time I will chose the worse flight schedules and pay more for them. It is not worth it.

In the first 6 months of 2017 16 people were killed on scheduled flights across the whole world (see "Flight") - 12 of those were crew so only 4 passengers died

I doubt any other form of transport was anywhere near as safe

Completely irrelevant. Safety doesn't mean that you can take chances. I don't like that the EU is allowing longer and longer flight duty hours for pilots, that pilots work until they are tired with the equivalent of alcohol intoxication, that airlines save money to sell cheaper tickets by using lower-qualified pilots and putting together crews which before maybe was experienced captain - inexperienced FO to inexperienced captain + inexperienced FO.

But what others might want to do is their choice. There is a irrational fear of flying, and a rational fear for some flights.
