JSDF twin-prop missing Hakodate

Yesterday on a mercy mission in weather judged inclement for the mediheli.
On approach to Hakodate over hills in low cloud.

Update. 1,700 volunteers have been searching for the last 24 hours. No sooner had I posted above than reports start coming in about preliminary debris finds around 10:30 this morning. Just pray there can be some good news here.

At the same time, even more sobering is this one where the rescue helicopter seems to have killed the rescuee.
