According to the BBC, China's first good sized home brewed passenger aircraft, C919, is due to make its maiden flight today at Shanghai.

Did anyone notice that the flight crew did not have helmets on nor did they seem to be a wearing parachute or life jackets? Every first flight I've watched the crew had full gear on.
