Boeing Dreamlifter

Said aircraft just overflew London from Italy or Germany headed to the US. I didn't realise that the aircraft flew on this side of the planet. Does Boeing allow it to be outsourced now and again as does Airbus with their Beluga fleet ?

I see them trailing over London pretty frequently, think they are picking up 787 parts from Alenia.

Alenia Aermacchi produces fuselage Sections 44 and 46 for the 787 program at their Grottaglie plant and horizontal stabilizers in Foggia.

Thanks for the replies. In the cobwebs of my mind I do remember something about Italian involvement in the 787, but didn't make a connection as to how the parts got to the final assembly plant!
