Hardy blokes, chopper pilots, being able to withstand those instantaneous changes of direction !

The sooner Apaches get ADS-B, the better.

Maybe it was too busy for them to cross so they were told to route around to the west?

AAC Apache gunners ARE pilots, just that they let somebody else do the driving (appropriate for royalty, I guess).

Nothing unusual, they did a standard easterly crossing. We held them at Bedfont a bit to allow a BA A380 to go on a CPT.

The airfield has been using the "easterly" runways over the past couple of days. Aircraft routing across are sent via the landing thresholds.

I can vouch for the fact that crossing Heathrow in a chopper on H9 is an unforgettable experience, especially when ATC make you orbit between the two runways.
