That's an awfully strong conclusion to draw from some very equivocal evidence!

Why would a seasoned captain, or the 1st officer, with no known motive, spend 7 hours playing hide & seek to commit suicide/murder? If he was so disturbed surely pre-flight behaviour would have been suspicious. There have been suggestions this disappearing act had been researched and practiced on a computer model. It still makes the whole scenario implausible. What history has there been of such a long drawn out event, starting from the research phase?
Is this the Sherlock theory; after examining all the possibilities and finding no solution then it must be one of the perceived impossibilities.

Egyptair 990, Germanwings 9525. In both cases no one noticed anything odd about the pilots before the flights. It's not unprecedented.

I'd love to see another explanation which had a reasonable fit with the facts and didn't require a full membership of the tinfoil hat owners club to find it credible.
