An124

I see the 124 is due back at Heathrow this evening at 1800pm with the damaged A380 engine on board due to the taxing incident

lovely aircraft, I was able to fly on a 124 a few times for a job I once had and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

On finals now lovely sound of engines
Was under the flight path around that time, alas traffic noise and wind negated the sound to the point of making it indistinct. Where did the AN124 go once on the ground ? Surely not into the BA maintenance area ? Any photos ?

lovely aircraft, I was able to fly on a 124 a few times for a job I once had and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Was it very noisy ? I've been inside a few of them over the years at air shows etc, very 'blue' inside the cockpit and old school, though not as Captain Nemo style as the AN22

Thanks for the video. Where did the unloading ballet take place ? Cargo, or BA's MX areas ? Also, how would the AN124's long take-off procedure be slotted into normal operations at very busy LHR ?

Both departures were in the evening: on Friday just before 11pm, in an 8-minute gap between BA's Tel Aviv and Abuja departures, and on Monday just after 9:30, so slightly more disruptive, in a similar-sized gap between the São Paulo and Moscow.
