Bizjets & Moscow

Hi, all.

Not sure if this is the right place, but here goes. I've spent quite a bit of time on Flightradar24 today, and followed a Bombardier Global 6000 which went into Berlin Schönefeld from Ottowa and then continued to Moscow. I then noticed several other bizjets all converging on the same city. The list (at least those I have spotted) includes the above, plus 2 from Gatwick, and one each from Japan, Malta, Monaco, Alicante, Southern Ukraine, and the central USSR. They've all landed in the last hour or so, and I wonder if this sort of migration is just a normal day, or is there something afoot? Can't help wondering if Mr Putin has called some of his friends round for a chat - could he (they?) be thinking of dangling some money under Greece's nose perhaps?

Neither. Just curious as to whether that number of bizjets all converging on Moscow in a short space of time is usual? Not having monitored the area in detail before I have no baseline. Knowing that Putin is always trying to increase his influence, and in light of the Greek vote, I suppose my mind just went on a bit of a wander...

Moscow does seem to have an extraordinary amount of biz jet activity, but as mr pram noticed, sometimes there is a cluster f**k of arrivals and/or departures. Perhaps Mr Putin did call a meeting of his associates, or perhaps it was a must-attend social event for the very well heeled, or maybe just one of those sychronicitous happenings that occur from time to time. Whatever, when it is crowded, it's all about who has the most influence as to getting serviced and gaining clearances

Flight Radar 24

I was browsing on the radar(I live just north of U-Tapao in Thailand)when I spotted a Cessna Caravan reg number N208AE on track from Don Muang over the gulf of Siam,I checked another a/c and returned to the caravan to find that it had disappeared of the radar .However about 20 minutes later a single engine craft flew overhead but it was to hazy to see but I assume it was the Caravan .Why would it disappear of the radar?

It didn't. It's not radar.

Me too. Fitting that skylight was a great investment.
