Skiathos Plane Spotting

I cannot afford to go to St Maarten (lol) so I am looking at Skiathos instead (JSI)... anyone who has been, can they recommend a nearby hotel please? xx

Hi

Try the Blue Dolphin it's virtually level with the touchdown

You don't even have to leave the Pool the Aircaft fly past you do would not even need binoculars

Word of warning

The hotel is very Basic typical of Greek hotels

There are. Or there were quite long gaps gaps
They seem to have a busy morning then nothing and a busy evening

I think this is because of the Tempreture and a fairly short Runway although I am told Air Italy take B767 into there (I've no idea how .) As it was tight with the MON 757

The Boss s Daughter quite fit and works behind the Bar

So you sit at the Bar and watch the Bird with Nice Legs and the Birds with Wings

Not been to JSI but can't imagine it gets busy as the apron can only hold about 3 a/c at one time. Maybe Corfu would be better?

Lanzarote - not much variety now

I have been to the island twice, last time approx. 10 years ago.
Spotting \ photography was superb and as everyone knows they land right over your head & take off in front of you.
No facilities though, but the variety has been replaced by Ryanair, easyjet & Air Berlin. Several Binter flights and the odd bizjets \ Mil.

As long as your are based in or around Skiathos Town you will be fine from the point of view that you can easily walk to the airport.
Stayed at Megali Amos which is the other side of the town to the airport.
