Thanks for your reply. I thought about cookies too.
However, I've noticed the 'reset to default map location' thing happen before I delete cookies using the 'Ccleane'r programme weekly. So I'm not clear how cookies are being deleted to cause the problem. I'm using Firefox 30.0.
Any ideas?
