For marketing purposes Bombardier use Q400 but I'll bet the Type certificate still says DHC-8 series 400.
Correct. The TC makes no mention of either "Dash 8" or "Q400", both of which are purely marketing designations for the aircraft certificated as the DHC-8.

The old Caravelle jetliner was exactly the same, although certified to higher that FL250. When it was sold to United in the USA, the FAA would not accept this approach, and required a proper drop-down O2 system to be developed.

dixi188,

So, with drop down oxygen masks per punter then certified to FL270, no oxygen masks then FL250.

So how about Cebu Pacific Air's ATR42/72 fleet then ... these have oxygen masks for every other row of passengers, only 50% of the passengers get to breath in the event of a depressurisation, but these are not drop down masks, the overhead panels in which the masks are housed need to be opened by a sharp implement however us mere mortal punters can't be trusted with sharp implements and it is explained on the safety card that in the event of a depressurisation one needs to wait for the trolley dolly to come around with her sharp implement before one may be allowed to breath.

As crazy as this may sound it's true ... emergency descent, seat belts on, seats and trays in the upright position ... and trolley dolly supposedly walking around the cabin with her sharp implement!
