Leeds Eagle

Fantastic photos.

I live a few minutes (flying) south of you in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. I see all these planes and would love to take the kind of photos you do. Keep up the good work.

I saw THT7 yesterday and, just like you said, it was a little further west then normal. Right over my house.

Fantastic shots! BUT, you've missed one! I fly that route almost daily and still you haven't spotted one of ours. BA E-Jets from EDI/GLA to LCY 7 times a day. Catch us if you can and I'll give ya a wave.

DutchBird. Your ride is far too sleek to show up even with a Barlow's lens!
Have you drove the 700th one yet?

Spend a few days on YN last week. Still had a wee bit of the 'new plane smell'.

I have commented before but seeing the latest photos makes me even more envious.

I live in Chesterfield only a few miles west of Barloborough Links were some of these photos were taken. UM16 passes right over my head so I see these beauties every day, I just wish I could get the shots that you both achieve.

The E6 was particularly good as my son and I stood in the garden watching it glide past in the evening sunlight. A beautiful sight.

Keep up the excellent work

Leeds Eagle I live west of you above Huddersfield, and we have both East to West as well as South / North routing at high level also planes on approach to Man (when wind from west). Have you thought of Holme Moss or Pole Moor near Huddersfield for photos, as both give you height and a wide view, as well as plenty of traffic at the right time of day. Saves the drive down the M1. Great photos.

Hi there
Thanks for your feedback, I've made trip to Holme Moss in Feburary,
http://www.pprune.org/spectators-bal...ml#post6252527

I find Holme Moss and Pole Hill are perfect locations in winter months between 10am-3pm when planes routes East to West on UL46 and South to North on UL613 (after 12pm) giving excellent sunlight.

I've made two morning trips so far this year to Holme Moss only to be greeted with with the Pennine Fog

So my locations for morning shots are Castle Hill Car Park, Hudds if I go straight from work in Bradford (6am) if planes are routing from Blackpool-Holme Moss-Mexborough-Alford (UL603) on Flightradar24.com.

or if I go from home in Leeds I go to Wombwell Woods Car Park if planes are routing from Blackpool-Holme Moss-Mexborough-Alford (UL603) on Flightradar24.com.

or Balborough Links Golf Course Car Park if planes are routing Wallesey-MCT-Dronfield-Woodhall Spa (UM16)

I try to stay on the motorways as in the morning I only have until 7:30am this time of year until Heatwaves and Haze affect picture quality

All the best

Thanks

There is something very ethereal about those cont-trailing airliners;

The other day I saw an A380 going N.W bound going; I suppose from BKY along one of those UL routes - A crystal clear morning - MK Eyeball job - I suspect it was an AF - it reminds me of my childhood in Brum - because of their altitude and my location - about a mile and a half west of the old Golf X-ray NDB, you cold see Vulcan's coming across Wales from about 100 miles away descending towards the LIC (at a guess) across what would have been the "Ambers" -

I used a 50 x "toy " telescope to distinguish between the Mk I's and the more crescent shaped wings of the MK II's - I do not remember any Victors though. - On a clear day you could see the trails of aircraft traveling along A25 in the low horizon at about sunset.

I would have been about 7-8 at the time - There is always the imperative to look skyward at that cont-trailing spec in the blue either.

Keep those pics coming.

Finally got my scanner (Uniden ez33xlt) and dipole antenna
Are these still frequencies for flight levels and airways over my house?
Cheers
