Spectators Balcony (Spotters Corner)If you're not a professional pilot but want to discuss issues about the job, this is the best place to loiter. You won't be moved on by 'security' and there'll be plenty of experts to answer any questions.
Several years ago there was some thought that KP208 would move to Ringway to celebrate the Parachute Regt which was formed there but the idea never came to anything.
Coventry Atlantic, Humberside N?47DC, Dunsford as seen on top gear, Duxford museum, Elvington museum and possibly North Weald. RAF BBMF Coningsby. Lee on Solent G-DAKK if its still there.
Thanks for all your replies. The DC-3 is my favourite aircraft, my next crusade is to find all DC-3´s in Spain including the Canaries and Balearics. Any idea´s? I believe Cuatro Vientos has some, maybe Palma de Mallorca too?
There is one in Son Bonet, Mallorca. It has been there for years and hasn't moved - hardly. There was another, registered in Estonia, I think, but it departed a while back.
EC-AQB used to be Alicante. Last reported 2001. EC-ASP was a Barajas not very long ago. T3-36 is at Cuatro Vientos EC-EJB is preserved at Son Bonet, Mallorca EC-BUG was once stored at Salamanca (2002) EC-CPO was stored at Zaragoza (1998)
As far as I know these are the only ones in Spain....
Once again, THANK YOU! (sorry to shout). I just love the DC-3, managed to get rides in 3 so far and looking for more. Been to Duxford, Elvington and coventry etc, seen the Viscount at Los Rodeos in TFN. Also regular visitor to Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla. Will just have to keep looking for more Daks.........
EI-AYO, a very smart Dak 3 in storage at the Science Museums store at Wroughton, seen only by the public once a year if you are lucky, its one of the oldest airframes left in the world.
