Cathay Pacific Cargo

When Cathay Pacific Cargo departs MAN is it loaded up with return cargo or does it fly empty? Just asking because when it took off this lunchtime, it started its takeoff run on 23R and by the time it reached Rompa it had lifted off. Mega impressive short takeoff for such a large aircraft!

It will probably have a cargo load, but likely be routing across to BRU or the like, so a light fuel load.
Used to do the pax 'shuttles' across to AMS in the good old days. That was fun, especially if an allowable defect called for a max thrust t/o !

Ah yes MAN shuttle in the 744 or even better KUL-PEN-KUL in the 777 at light weights.

DHL trips could also be fun (despite the time of day). Up to FL430 in 17 minutes, and down in not much longer.

When on contract to Cargolux in 2008, we used to carry a full load of flowers from Nairobi up to Maastricht. Oh what fun we had in TF-AMD, departing from Maastricht's shortish runway, empty except for 5 tonne of fuel as ballast in the centre tank, making sure that any photographers at the end of the runway never got a shot! It used to go ballistic!! regards clive..

Lunch time cargo

Donnlass,

Sorry this is late just never got round to picking up my timetable.
Thursday flight 4th should have been CX001 departing 1105hrs so round lunchtime.
This would have been going to BRU then as CX002 to DXB and onto HKG.

Cathay never flies empty - each station will have it's cargo allocation previously space booked.

A few gallons of juice and fill-up in BRU for the hop to DXB.
