Flight under escort

About 1120 this morning, I saw what looked like a passenger aircraft (fokker size) being followed by a military jet overhead Bournemouth at about FL60. Can anyone shed any light on why this might have occured or does anyone know anything specific about this event. Any info would be gratefully appreciated.

I suggest that what you saw was an FR Aviation aircraft conducting a sortie with a military jet - have a look at Cobham Flight Operations and Services - UK for more details. I also suspect that its no coincidence that you saw this in the Bournemouth area which is where they are based.

Yes. In case you had forgotten, we still appear to be getting shot at in Afghanistan.
