This IS the spectators balcony forum.

The jetblue incident was big news for just a little while. Much like the OJ car chase, it was live on TV, and they did a very nice job making an uneventful touchdown. Still they caught internet critics complaining that they didn't quite maintain the runway center line.

the landing gear was twisted 90 degrees from the center position

Correct. The airplane flew around live for a couple of hours, live on TV while the media made a circus out of it, then it made an uneventful, successful landing.
