CAAC not processing Canadian Applicants

Any other Canucks confirm if this is true? Any details as to how long? Etc.

I have been told by a few one of the agencies that this is true but no reasoning as to why.

I also have a few colleagues at Xiamen who recently just started and have heard similar things are happening. Apparently CSA has postponed/cancelled upcoming screenings of any Canadian Applicants...

Any information is much appreciated.

Not many people understood how CAAC works.

Probably, I am one of the few able to explain abit.

CAAC is not the same in different parts of China. Are you aware that CAAC in Beijing and CAAC in Hainan works differently?!

There are also internal politics between Airline and Local Authority.

CAAC for southern region is no longer processing Canadian applicants. The hiccup has something to do with the security background screening for Canadians. It's possible that the upcoming BRICS summit in Xiamen may have added additional layers of security to the screening conducted by the CAAC in this region. Perhaps after the summit the process will return to normal. In China, much patience is required...

Is it Canadian passports or Canadian licences which is the issue?

I think maybe the passport

In the summer of 2016 ICAO added Canada and Sao Tome and Principe to the list of countries with "security concerns". Other more safe countries such as Georgia, Kazakhstan, Sierra Leone and Uruguay were added to the list of countries that have adequately addressed their "security concerns".

From what I have heard this is an annual assessment made by ICAO, so provided the government entity in Canada responsible for convincing ICAO that Canada is safer and more secure then Sierra Leone does their job, maybe applicants to China will have better fortune after the fall of 2017.
