StarLux - Will it take off ?

Ambitious plan disclosed for establishment of new airline StarLux | Taiwan News

Is Taiwan able to support 3 International carriers?

As it is the two major carriers are basically squeaking by making modest profits in the best of times.

He wanted to start with widebodies and flying to the routes that's already served by EVA and CAL. Both carriers have a lot deeper pocket than he does. Also, he want to take paxs from SE Asia to US and more, what makes him think he can take on SQ? Also, he wanted to have his own maintenance and the own ground handling service! Unless he has good backing, this airline is set to fail.
