Who's hiring CRJ900 pilots into the left seat on the A320 for $20k+/mo
Most all the recruitment sites are saying you need 500+ hours in the left seat of a 737/A320. I'm in my 30s have about 3000 TT and 500PIC on a CRJ900. Any ideas?

probably the best is to speak to the agencies themselves. They can give you the most current answers. The way I see it, if they want time on type and you don't have it, then you'll have to get it to be eligible. However, it's a strange world out there, I wish you all the best with it.

Son, with that attitude I can guarantee you that you are not going to pass your assessment in China. Stop looking at the world through pink glasses. They are hiring on CRJ at Chonqking, try that first ,the money is decent. Good luck!

I almost regretted clicking on this ridiculous thread, but this comment made it worthwhile and entertaining. BRAVO and thank you for the good laugh!

This sort of attitude is what will get you terminated real quick in Asia, money is the first thing they cut . It will make you mad , you will start an argument with HR and you will be on the first plane home.
Grow up mate, bumming around in an RJ is not a big jet. You want to become rich , find a real investment opportunity !

It is not a stupid question.
If you have time as captain on a Q400, some companies in Europe will take you in a left seat on a 737 or A320 (i.e. Sun Express, Vueling).
And why bother answering, if you think it is stupid. Just leave it instead of blighting the forum with contemptuous and condescending comments.

There's exactly zero interest in NTR captains with 500 PIC and 3000 TT, let alone for ones with egos big enough to denigrate the skill of colleagues that they've yet to meet.

To the OP....., your experience is too low to be competitive for those 20K+ contracts you are referring to....., those are mainly in China and precisely because of the pay, they have quite a bit of applicants.
I would suggest that you try for the less desirable non-rated DEC contracts out there and get some experience on the A/C, then try your luck in China again.
Best of luck.
One thing that I would recommend about Asia in general and not just China..., don't make assumptions! Asia isn't any different than any other country in terms of proficiency in the cockpit, many of the local pilots out here are actually quite good.

Thanks Frank... you sound about as useful as my soon to be Chinese FO.

But then tell him instead of being an asshole.
His rude comment came as a response to a rude reply in the first place
I have had rude answers here for absolute no reason - and I have 8000 hours +, have been an examiner and instructor for more than 10 years.

Coming here from a US regional as PIC in a new aircraft type? Wouldn't wish that jump into the deep end on anyone. And no, i'm not talking out my ass. I came here from a US regional with considerably more flight time, and started as an FO in the A320, learning from EXPATS who have been here quite sometime.
It will be a very unsafe cockpit IMO. You will need 100% of your focus on the outside environment trying to deal you a bad hand at every turn. The bigger airports in China are getting OK, but the smaller ones are still a circus. Dealing with all of this along with an unfamiliar airplane....no way.

A typical (good day) flying into PEK/CAN/PVG would be like this: Getting your Arrival about 10NM before the first fix, then the next ATC will switch to a whole different procedure on you. You might get any of the 3 runways (and they wont tell you ahead of time). All the while, you are telling your FO to input that into your FMC, trying to level-down automation, coverting meters to feet, listening to heavy accented instructions, and depending on how comfortable is your FO's CRM, he might or might not point out deviations until its too late. Oh, and then there are the 550RVR approaches on manual land.
Thats all just a really really normal day. And you must understand that there is no "No Harm No Foul" policy. Everything, your fault or not, is your fault.
and those are just their A-team airports.

Don't forget RVR 1200 and the airport closes down even they have 4 runways all autoland able , 6 hour delay for slot time, breathing in toxic fumes during the walking around, getting the passengers to calm the hell down , being given a SID in the complete opposite direction due to war games
You still wanna come ?
