Male Airport Maldives New Runway
Been reading that a new 3400m long runway and Terminal building is planned for Male airport which could increase passenger throughput from present 2.5 million to over 7 million.
It involves much land reclamation and apparently work has already started. Have been unable to find plans showing the new proposed layout. Any information on the layout would be appreciated.

From what I've understood old runway will be turned in to taxiway and new runway (3400x60) will be built parallel on the east side of new taxiway (old runway). I believe more parking spaces have already been built north of the terminal buildings.

Makes sense I suppose as the present layout is very constrained. If new runway is planned on east side and existing runway is to become a taxiway then looks like seaplane
terminal etc will need re-locating.
