Help Contacting WPC Kolkata

Hey everyone. I submitted my RTR (A) for renewal to WPC Kolkata about 3-4 weeks ago and have been trying to contact them since. I once managed to get someone on the line who told me that he would check my file and give me an update in 30 mins. It has been a week since then and inspite of calling every 5 mins every day, I cannot get through to them (no one answers).

If anyone knows a number or a way of contacting them so I can check on the status of my license, other than the numbers mentioned on the WPC FAQ page, please do let me know. I obviously do not live there and therefore cannot pay them a visit.

Any help is appreciated.

2 minutes in India is about one hour in real time... That said, do the math

Try the numbers given in here

http://www.wpc.gov.in/WriteReadData/...for%202015.pdf

Renewals and issue of RTR licenses usually 45-60 days . Dont expect any satisfactory replies via telephone

After two months if you still havent received the license file an RTI online with DOT . RTI requests usually get the the Govt officers to sit up and take notice

Hey.

I renewed my RTR about 2 months ago from WPC Kolkata and had the same problems like you. In my case I waited for a month before contacting them. When I did, I was told that the renewal was sent by post and should arrive any day. I waited again for a week before calling. This time I asked for the tracking number.

On tracking, it showed that the post had been sent when the WPC said they did. Only it didn't leave Kolkata and was at some sorting facility.

It arrived 3 weeks later. Total time taken from the date of me posting the application was 2 months. Sometimes it is WPC's fault, sometime it is the postal department. They send registered posts, not speed posts.
