Philippine Airlines B757s?

How likely is this mooted PAL operation with B757s on direct MNL-BNE by the end of the year? Waiting to book but holding off on the current A320 service via DRW in hope!

Pretty much a done deal. The 75s are ex-Shanghai Airlines, sold for a song. PAL now could no longer claim to have the youngest fleet in this neck of the woods.

Heard gonna be online by Sept, with 747 guys to be rated. Not a happy bunch, of course.

With Lucio Tan re-taking control of PAL, heard that the 757 plans are gonna be scrapped.

On another note. Why is PAL hiring so much second officers? I heard that there are 34 in the line up waiting to start their ground school and PAL is still accepting applicants to include in the pool.
