I say again KF used the PSU banks money. Damania and Khemka were non entities. A certain real estate guy from Vijaywada is finding out the hard way about running an airline co in India . You misunderstood my phrase of big players . To run international ops now you need companies like EK and EY with ruthless CEOs who are conversant with aviation. Just look at the great TF. He started ops June 5 2014 ,said he will break even in 3 months .Now he says Dec. Doesn't even mention which year . And believe me if TF is finding the going difficult, everyone else will ! Also small players with better brains don't come into aviation. They run provision shops !

EK - is wholly owned by the government of Dubai. EY - is the National airline of UAE in both cases there is a huge investment from the State. Your pointed out practicality in your previous discussions then it makes me wonder that you must either be foreign to India aviation or a ruthless critic of airlines in India.

Let me draw your attention to EY's decision to partner with 9W please think which airline could have made the best out of this deal I have my facts but I don't like to address them in this forum whatever the possibilities you may think the middle east carrier has done a lot of research about the aviation outlook in India so If you cannot rely the former you must have faith in the later's decision as you consider them as "Big Players" in International Operations.

Now coming to the airline from Vijayawada who you underestimate is maintaining a 80% load factor any new airline looks to stabilize their operating margins and turn profitable at least in a year or Two, with the previous governments not being able to support the request's of the airline community by and large I think we need to avail the moratorium in order to witness better governance from the present political system which should make this sector more secure and profitable among global markets.

You will soon witness a complete turnaround with the aviation sector in India and that's why we need more players like Air Costa, Air Carnival etc....

Also small players with better brains don't come into aviation. They run provision shops smart comment but this remark could hurt the sentiments of a provision store vendor but when you care less to address about airlines in this forum I can dismiss your comments without any regrets

BE PRACTICAL

India's New Airline entrepreneurs - LIVEMINT

New Delhi: The civil aviation ministry has cleared six new airlines—three national and three regional—by granting them no-objection certificates. Air One Aviation Pvt. Ltd, Zexus Air and Premier Air plan to launch operations on a national level if they get licences from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Turbo Megha, Air Carnival and Zav Airways want to take to the skies as regional airlines, which operate within a limited geography and face restrictions on where they may fly to. Here is a snapshot of the new airlines and their promoters.

Air One

Air One is founded by Alok Sharma and his wife Shashi Bala. Sharma is a former president of Air Sahara and has worked with ModiLuft and InterGlobe Enterprises. The Air One management is largely made up of former Air Sahara executives and operate out of its office at Terminal 1, Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Delhi. It has six charter aircraft. The airline, which has only Sharma and wife as directors, has a paid-up capital of Rs.103 crore. It denies it’s a backdoor entry for the Sahara Group. Sharma said the airline will launch in March and work has started on it.

Premier Airways

Premier Airways is promoted by Umapathy Pinaghapani and a consortium of investors, according to consulting firm Capa. Pinaghapani is an Indian citizen based in the US. Premier Airways’ promoters are in the information technology, retail and distribution businesses and plan to start a national level low-cost carrier.

Turbo Megha

Southern movie actor Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan and Vankayalapati Umesh are directors of Turbo Megha Airways Pvt. Ltd, which is expected to start operations from Hyderabad. Turbo Aviation Pvt. Ltd, an associate company, has two Cessna Citation aircraft and is based out of Hyderabad. It also has provided ground-handling services to domestic airlines such as Air Deccan, Air Sahara, Jet Airways (India) Ltd, Kingfisher Airlines Ltd and Go Airlines Pvt. Ltd, among others.

Air Carnival

Air Carnival Charter Service was established in 2013 and is based in New Delhi. It is founded by S.I. Nathan, chairman of the CMC Group, which runs institutions offering courses in aeronautical and marine technologies in Tamil Nadu.

Zav Airways

Zav Airways Pvt. Ltd plans to start services in the Eastern and North-Eastern parts of the country. It is promoted by Kolkata-based Kishor Zavery. It plans to use Bell 412 twin-engine helicopters that can land in any airport.

Zexus Air

Zexus Air plans to launch services with Embraer E175LR equipment, according to the Capa website. The airline functions from a small office at Delhi’s IGI Airport. It declined to comment on its promoters. Source: DGCA, Airline websites, Capa, Mint research

Travel Biz Monitor :: Regional airline Turbo Megha Airways in talks to sell majority stake

Regional airline Turbo Megha Airways in talks to sell majority stakeBy TBM Staff | Mumbai

Vankayalapati Umesh, Promoter-Director of Turbo Megha Airways, is in talks with Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructures (MEIL) to sell a majority stake in the regional airline, as per an ET report by Raji Reddy Kesireddy. "MEIL has shown interest and talks are currently on," Umesh said, adding, "We expect to close the deal in a month or so."*

Turbo Megha Airways is one of six airlines that received approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) last month. Telugu actor Ram Charan Teja is its other Director of the airline. “We are currently doing due diligence,” PV Krishna Reddy, Managing Director, MEIL said. “Given the turbulent nature of the Indian and global aviation industry, where most players are bleeding, we want to take a cautious call only after an extensive due diligence process, which should take few more weeks to complete,” he added.*

MEIL, which has an order book of Rs 25,000 crore, is a customer of Umesh's charter aircraft firm Turbo Aviation. MEIL had reported revenue of Rs 6,000 crore for the year ended March 2014.*

According to Umesh, the airline needs at least Rs 70 crore to begin operations with three short-haul turbo prop aircraft in the first year, and an investment of at least Rs 15 crore per aircraft thereafter.*

“I have the required domain expertise and operational capabilities but certainly not the financial muscle,” Umesh said, adding, "Hence the talks with my large customers of charter aircraft for equity investment."*

Umesh said his airline needs deep pockets to pump in funds, given the long gestation involved in breaking even. He said he had informed most customers of his charter aircraft service about his stake sale plan. According to Umesh, once a deal is through his stake in the airline will reduce to about 30 per cent while Teja's will be about 15 per cent.*

Turbo Megha will be the second regional airline from Hyderabad after Air Costa, which commenced operations in October last year. It has identified 18 Tier-II towns and cities in the South for operations. The airline is in talks with Brazilian aerospace company Embraer and French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR to enter into lease agreements for at least three aircraft by year-end.*

Hey aviator 3233

I got the mail too, there site has got pretty limited info though they plan to commence the operation in May 2015 but I doubt dat with the aop process and proving flights to take place. Nyways
Things to ponder on

Do they have sufficient funding to run an airline?
When is the first aircraft coming?
Status of the ops manuals and other manuals as well?
Have they got the noc to import the aircraft if they plan to?

That's a significant number.
But dont forget, there are multiple airlines/regionals coming up with ATRs soon.
Maybe all of them are retained accordingly.

Obviously the fresher is not going to be used for proving flights. They should have some rated guys available for that.

The recruitment is probably for the future induction of aircraft's.
