Sriwijaya airplane overruns in pontianak

A privately owned Sriwijaya Air aircraft, with flight number SJY182, bound from Jakarta overran the runway of Supadio Airport in Pontianak, West Kalimantan on Friday. No casualties had been reported, state owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) corporate secretary Trisno Heryadi confirmed.
"All of the 160 passengers are safe. We are currently evacuating the aircraft," Trisno told The Jakarta Post over the phone. He said that Supadio Airport had been temporarily closed since around 4 p.m.
"The National Transportation Safety Committee is on its way to Pontianak to investigate the case," he added. He said the incident delayed two flights heading to Supadio from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng, Banten. (lfr)
